Moth

Check out the size of this moth we found on our cabin last night! It loved Richard so much we had troubles getting it off of him :O

Burney Falls State Park

WOW these falls are breathtaking every time we come visit. We were going to go swimming but the water was down right FREEZING! so we just took pictures :)

Spatter Cone!

These are the remnants of spatter cones, early volcanic features that filled the Hat Creek area with lava thousands of years ago. We found a lava tube with two cute little bats sleeping in it but we didn't take pictures because we didn't want to wake them up.

Climbing!

A great climb day with some of our friends in Lassen.

Cinder Cone!

An extinct volcano in Lassen Volcanic National Park. It was a brutal hike up! But watching the moon rise from inside of a caldera was totally worth it.

This is where we live

And what a beautiful place to live it is. These are pictures from the park and surrounding national forest we are currently calling home!

Ocean! Happy 1 year anniversary!

Here we are in Crescent City CA exploring the Redwoods and the tide pools along the coast! It was an AWESOME TRIP!

Sundial Bridge and Turtle Bay Gardens in Redding CA

On our way to the Ocean, we stopped in Redding to see the Sundial Bridge designed by Santiago Calatrava. Its a foot bridge that connects the trails on either side of the Sacramento River. This bridge is a working sundial that is perfectly accurate on spring equinox! Turtle bay had gardens on the other side that we had a wonderful time touring :)

Our First Post

Ok it actually happened. Richard and Abby have a blog :)
Here we are living in Lassen Volcanic National Park. Mostly this will be a way for us to post pics for everyone to see.
