While I was being all caught up with words and their power I couldn't help but think of those incredible artists who work at your heart strings using no words at all:
I immediately think of the world of Pixar:
Of WallE and EVE:

of Carl and Ellie:

But I recently found this great little picture story too:

I have to admit. Although I have spent my whole life loving words and pouring through them, admiring those who can use them elegantly. Growing up I couldn't imagine a life without words. In the last 7 years I have come to appreciate those who can say much without saying anything. I told Tyler I have a special place in my heart for the people I work with who have had strokes and have a hard time speaking. I take great care to learn to understand them as they use the few words that they can use. Tyler says I am a little biased and I suppose he is right. A story can be told in silence, in a look, with your hands. I count on this everyday.
ReplyDeleteI love words, written and spoken. There are times that silence says more. There are times that love communicates what can't be expressed in words. I like this reminder. Thank you Abby and Katie.
